The Port Hope project was a labor of love. The house was built in 1870 by a merchant seaman in Italianate Victorian style. The many spectacular exterior and interior architecture details evoked how my design unfolded. It was important to capture the past essence of the house by staying true to the heritage, but also injecting modern conveniences and comfort.
I used an eclectic mix of antique and new furnishings and added whimsical touches throughout. This home is a very special example of an era gone-by and how one can honor the past but juxtapose contemporary function and comfort into the space.
